Description: In this course, students will read Shakespeare in depth and explore what makes his plays and poems timeless. What makes you laugh? What makes you cry? What makes you question right and wrong, and what determines the course of your life and your destiny? These are the kinds of questions that Shakespeare explores in the lives of his characters and that students will think about in their study of Shakespeare’s sonnets and three of his plays: two tragedies and a comedy. This course is designed to help students navigate Shakespeare’s sometimes complex language and themes in order to read Shakespeare confidently and enjoy some of the funniest and most dramatic stories ever told.
