Description: This course provides a survey of the traditional Greek and Roman myths as well as the myths of other cultures, primarily Native American and African. These myths are compared in several areas, including creation, death and the afterlife, and gods and goddesses. The course concludes with a look at the epic through a discussion of the "Odyssey."
