Description: Students will learn how the elements of art and the principles of design are used in visual art. They will examine art styles and techniques, as well as various media artists use. Art works examined include both Western and nonwestern, paintings, sculptures, printmaking, and architecture. Students will learn how to look at art critically and write an art criticism. Optional art activities included in the lessons are for student enrichment.
Special Instructions: Lesson assignments need to be created in Microsoft Word or another word processor that saves files as .doc (Word 97–2003 document) or .rtf (Rich Text format).
