Prerequisites: Successful completion of Algebra I. Successful completion of Geometry is strongly suggested.
Description: Building on operations covered in the fall semester, this course introduces processes used to solve various equations (polynomial, quadratic systems, exponential, and logarithmic). Students will investigate graphs of parabolas, circles, ellipses, and hyperbolas. The course ends with the study of statistics and probability.

DATES: Enrollments begin in October; coursework starts January 14, 2013.

The course content will be viewable two weeks prior to the start date. Read more about our semester courses online. The semester courses follow a specific calendar, and the normal 9-month completion policy does not apply to these courses. Therefore, students who have not completed all work by the due date for the course final (listed on the course calendar) will automatically be withdrawn from the course.

Lesson assignments need to be created in Microsoft Word or another word processor that saves files as .doc (Word 97–2003 document) or .rtf (Rich Text format).

Materials Note: A basic calculator with a square root function is required for this course. A graphing calculator can be quite helpful in constructing graphs and tables, but it is not required. The same textbooks are also used for the spring semester.
