Description: In this course, students will learn how to apply active reading strategies as they read a variety of literary genres, as well as the play, The Miracle Worker. They will develop skills for literary analysis and writing. Lessons are organized into four sections: literature, journaling, vocabulary, and grammar.

Lesson assignments need to be created in Microsoft Word or another word processor that saves files as .doc (Word 97–2003 document) or .rtf (Rich Text format). The Glencoe Literature textbook is also used for the second half unit.
